Maori for 'Stay Strong'...a phrase I not only have tattooed on me (much to my mother's disdain) but a phrase I try to adhere to like a fresh Pritt-stick on a clean piece of paper.
As eluded to in my last blog, things in general in my life at the moment are moving and changing at a rate of knots on a stormy sea and some days, it's extremely challenging trying to keep up with them all let alone stay ahead of the pace. So sometimes, a little reminder is necessary to re-focus the mind and feed the soul so that I'm in a much better place to deal with the spinning wheels that surround me.
If you've ever owned a hamster with a wheel in its cage, you'll completely understand that sometimes the squeaking just drives you to the point where you either want to give up, re-home the dear, little creature and send it on its merry way or you persevere and just simply use a bit of the old WD40 to ease the squeak! Now, quitting or giving up are subjective terms and for me, personally, sometimes quitting something for the greater good is the best thing I can do. It's not about giving up....it's about knowing myself, my limits and my own boundaries. It's about knowing that I've reached 'that point' when something has to give....about being sure of myself in that knowledge and sticking with it. Sometimes, just sometimes, WD40 alone isn't enough and the whole wheel has to be replaced. Not cheap, but always worth it!
So, this week I shall be feeding my soul with some fresh air. long walks and probably some chocolate! I will hopefully then be able to decide which wheel to change, which just need a bit of a helping hand whilst striving to 'keep strong' with a bit of Pritt-stick along the way! (All products available from good stationery and general stores!)
